There are some changes that affect the weekend club tee times and the weekend game. Please read carefully and share with members who do not have email.

1. The weekend tee times were given to us with the expectation that they were for players who got in "the game". The board and officers has taken a while to consider what kind of game would we like. The Parks said they would run a game like there is at the other clubs. A group decision was made to follow a format similar to Genesee and Churchville. This format will be used on non-tournament weekend days for the balance of the year. The officiers and board feel that this format will benefit the club in the long run as it promotes intermixing of the club members and makes is especially easy for new members to get in a group and meet other members. The board and officers knows this is different and may not appeal to everyone, but feel it will be good for the club overall.

2. The first weekend this will affect will be the weekend of June 23/24 so this will affect you when you get tee times this weekend for next weekend. You can call in or sign the list in the proshop until the tuesday prior to the weekend and be assured of being organized into a group. All players taking one of the slots in the club's designated tee times will be required to play in the sweeps and an 80% handcap 2man BB. Skins and closest to the pin costs are optional. Unused tee times as of tuesday night will be turned back to the general public.

Club tee times presently are Sat. 7am - 830am and Sun. 7am - 9am.

When you call in or sign in, you will provide the following info: name, preference of playing time (early or late), handicap, and whether you will walk or take a cart.

On wednesday, Jack Gehrs will take the list and randomly select an A player and a B player from those that want to play early. That will form a 2man BB team for the day that will play together. He will then pick another A and B players randomly to form a second 2man BB team. That will then complete the foursome for the 1st early tee time for the club. He will repeat the process until all players are chosen. He will then proceed to select teams from those that want to play late. Jack will also take into consideration who is using carts to avoid single cart users.

You can call the proshop (266-0110, ext. 2) on thurs and friday to find out who you are playing with and your exact starting time.

3. If you are going to play a match, you will provide your name and opponents name and whether you want to play the match early or late. Your match will simply take the place of one of the 2man BB teams. Players in matches will not pay the sweeps and 2man BB fees as match play and stroke play formats are not compatible and are in violation with the rules of golf.

4. If you are going to bring a guest, then you will provide that person's name and you will play with your guest as your partner in the 2man BB. If that person has a USGA handicap, he may use it in the games. If he does not, then he will receive 80% of the difference between his gross score for the day and par for his handicap for the day. He will then receive 80% of that number for his handicap in the 80% 2man BB.

5. Members who do not want to play in this format can simply get their own tee times either before or after the club's time slot. You will need to participate in the new format in order to play in the weekend games.
