Dear DEGC Members,

On behalf of the Board of Directors and Officers of DEGC, we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and joyful holiday season.

With the 2018 season rapidly approaching, I wanted to take this opportunity to update everyone on the status of our club and remind everyone of some important dates coming up.

The club again finished the year in good financial conditions. Thanks to the stewardship of our treasurer Paul Boehm, between our checking account and money market fund we have approximately $15,000 in our treasury.

Club Calendar

Your board has been hard at work scheduling the 2018 budget, calendar and tournament schedule. The tournament schedule will be announced once we have hammered out a few details. Our first event will be on January 16th at the Durand Eastman Clubhouse 6:30 – 9:30PM. We will again raffle off a season pass. Tickets will be $5 each or 5 for $20.

The first members meeting will be on 3/12 and will continue to be on the second Tuesday of the month through September with the exception of July when we will not have a club meeting.

The Awards Banquet will again be at the Rochester Yacht Club in October. Tentative date is set for October 12th pending confirmation of reservations.

Course Management

As most of you are aware, Kless Myers Inc. is no longer managing the golf courses. Monroe County is taking over the full operation of the courses. As of this writing they have posted a position for a manager. Once that person is in place they will be hiring golf pros for each course. I will keep you informed as more information becomes available.

We’ve already been told that there will be a different look to the pro shops. Each should still have a pro managing the golf operations. However, there will not be a large inventory of products as we enjoyed with Kless Meyers, Inc. The board will be pursuing other options for awarding tournament and sweeps prizes. We will keep you informed as more information becomes available.

Again, we hope you all enjoy your holiday season. See you at the Winter Gathering on 1/16/18 at the Durand Clubhouse.
